Levski Sofia focuses on player retention and squad composition

Levski Sofia is focusing on retaining key players following their championship success. The club has already renewed the contract of Christian Makoun and is expressing optimism regarding a potential extension for midfielder Akram Bouas. Bouas, who is currently recovering from an injury, is expected to return to full training following the international break. The club is prioritizing his physical recovery before entering new contract negotiations.

Separately, the club's recent squad composition has drawn attention due to a low number of domestic players in the national team selection. Out of the current championship squad, Christian Dimitrov is the only player called up to the Bulgarian men's national team. This trend reflects a broader shift in the club's recruitment strategy, which increasingly relies on foreign players, with international athletes now making up a significant portion of the first team.
