Lewis Hall remains in England contention despite injury scare

England manager Thomas Tuchel has addressed the absence of Lewis Hall during the team’s 3-2 defeat to Spain at Wembley. While Hall was available on the bench, Tuchel opted not to use him due to an injury scare that caused the Newcastle United defender to miss several training sessions earlier in the week.

Tuchel explained that the decision was a precautionary measure to avoid risking Hall in high-speed running situations, particularly when defending against Spain’s Lamine Yamal. Despite the setback, Hall remains a key part of Tuchel’s plans for the left-back position.

Hall has expressed that his previous omission from the World Cup squad serves as motivation to secure a permanent place in the national team. Following a recent long-term contract extension with Newcastle United, the 22-year-old continues to be a central figure in England’s defensive discussions as the Nations League campaign progresses.
