Lewis Hamilton acquires and restores classic Ferrari F40

Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton has acquired a classic Ferrari F40, a vehicle he describes as his childhood dream car. Hamilton sought an authentic specimen and located one that had remained largely untouched for three decades.

The car was reportedly driven only 69 kilometers from Maranello to its previous owner's location before being stored under a cover for 30 years. Hamilton noted that the passenger door had never been opened during that time.

To make the vehicle drivable, Hamilton brought the car to the Ferrari factory in Maranello, where engineers and mechanics spent weeks restoring it to its original condition. The F40, produced between 1987 and 1996, is considered a legendary model and was the final car approved by Enzo Ferrari before his death.
