Lewis Hamilton Apologizes and Faces Multiple Penalties After Hungarian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton apologized to Ferrari race engineer Carlo Santi after being overtaken during the Hungarian Grand Prix, where he was involved in a tight battle with Max Verstappen. The incident highlighted the ongoing competition between Ferrari and Red Bull for championship points.

During the same weekend Hamilton received several penalties: a three‑place grid drop for impeding Oscar Piastri in qualifying and a post‑race pit‑lane speeding sanction. The penalties demoted him from a strong qualifying position and cost valuable points, leaving him fifth in the race and 50 points behind the championship leader. Formula 1 commentator David Croft described the penalties as the result of "careless mistakes" and urged Hamilton to avoid giving stewards further reasons to intervene.
