Lewis Hamilton approaches 400th Formula 1 Grand Prix in Brazil
Lewis Hamilton is set to become only the second driver in Formula 1 history to reach 400 Grand Prix starts at the upcoming Sao Paulo GP. The seven-time world champion currently holds 399 entries and starts, maintaining a record of having started every race for which he was entered since his 2007 debut, with the exception of the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix due to COVID-19.
Hamilton will join Fernando Alonso in the 400-race club. Alonso is scheduled for his 448th entry at the Interlagos circuit. The venue holds historical significance for both drivers, as Alonso secured his first titles there in 2005 and 2006, while Hamilton won his first championship at the same track in 2008.
Throughout his career, Hamilton has accumulated 106 wins, 105 poles, 209 podiums, and 5,277.50 points. While he holds numerous Formula 1 records, he currently trails Michael Schumacher in fastest laps, with 70 compared to Schumacher's 77. Both Hamilton and Schumacher share the record for the most world titles with seven each.
