Lewis Hamilton celebrates first Ferrari win, says focus on each race
Lewis Hamilton secured his first victory driving for Ferrari at the Barcelona Grand Prix, marking his 106th career win in Formula 1 and moving him to second place in the drivers’ standings, 41 points behind Mercedes leader Charles Leclerc. He told reporters he is not thinking about the championship, emphasizing that he concentrates on "each race individually" and aims to extract the maximum from the car every weekend.
Former Ferrari race engineer Rob Smeddle said the team is "over the moon" with Hamilton’s performance, likening his potential impact to that of Michael Schumacher and noting that the driver is widely admired within the paddock. Hamilton’s win also ended Mercedes’ streak of six consecutive race victories, reviving hopes that he could challenge for an eighth world title as the season progresses toward the Austrian Grand Prix in Spielberg.
