Lewis Hamilton clinches first Ferrari win at Spanish Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton secured his inaugural victory driving for Ferrari at the Spanish Grand Prix in Barcelona, finishing 2.6 seconds ahead of Max Verstappen. Charles Leclerc completed the podium in third place. The win ended Hamilton’s nearly two‑year title‑fight drought and moved him into second place in the drivers' standings, narrowing the gap to championship leader Verstappen.
Verstappen publicly congratulated Hamilton, calling the achievement “very special”. The result also shifted the competitive balance, with Ferrari’s upgrade package allowing the team to challenge Red Bull’s dominance. The victory marked Ferrari’s first win in Barcelona in six years and heightened the rivalry heading into the next round at Silverstone.
