Lewis Hamilton clinches second grid spot as Ferrari upgrades lift Barcelona qualifying

Lewis Hamilton said Ferrari’s recent upgrades erased most of the four‑tenths of a second deficit his car had suffered at the start of the Barcelona Grand Prix weekend. After missing the first free‑practice session, Hamilton found the car’s balance improving through the sessions and set the fastest lap in Q1, ending just a tenth of a second behind pole‑maker George Russell. He qualified second on the grid, ahead of Kimi Alonzo, and expressed how “great it feels” to be back in contention.

Hamilton praised the new developments, noting that the car now feels “much more comfortable” and that Ferrari’s innovations are being copied by rivals. He highlighted the team’s hard work and hinted that further upgrades are on the way, improving his confidence for the upcoming races.
