Lewis Hamilton faces trust concerns with Ferrari
Questions regarding the level of trust between Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari have emerged following the Singapore Grand Prix. During a Virtual Safety Car period, Hamilton chose not to enter the pits for a tire change, despite instructions from the team.
Former Aston Martin strategist Bernie Collins suggested that this decision indicates a lack of confidence in the team's strategic calls. While Ferrari Team Principal Frédéric Vasseur noted that the team issued a clear message to pit, Hamilton later issued a statement suggesting he had missed the call rather than intentionally ignoring it.
Collins noted that such incidents, including a similar situation in Malaysia, point to a deeper issue in the relationship. Hamilton has since apologized to the team, acknowledging that the decision to remain on track was his own.
