Lewis Hamilton sets age record with Catalan Grand Prix win

Lewis Hamilton won the Formula 1 Catalan Grand Prix, marking his first victory in Ferrari colours and becoming the oldest Grand Prix winner at 41 years, 5 months and 7 days. The win broke a 56‑year‑old record previously held by Jack Brabham, who had been the oldest winner since his 1970 South African Grand Prix triumph.

The victory also ended a 19‑year‑and‑4‑day span between Hamilton’s first win at the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix and his latest triumph. Alongside teammates George Russell (Mercedes) and Lando Norris (McLaren), Hamilton completed an all‑British podium – the first such occurrence since the 1968 American Grand Prix.

Hamilton now leads the championship standings by 41 points over Mercedes rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli, narrowing the gap that had previously placed him behind in the points race.
