Lewis Hamilton wins Barcelona-Catalonia GP, strengthens title fight

Lewis Hamilton secured his first victory for Ferrari at the 2026 Barcelona-Catalonia Grand Prix, the seventh round of the Formula 1 season. Hamilton benefited from a virtual safety car caused by Fernando Alonso, allowing a pit stop that let him emerge ahead of Charles Leclerc and George Russell to take the lead and win the race.

The event, the inaugural Barcelona-Catalonia Grand Prix following a name change, featured a strong performance from Andrea Kimi Antonelli, who led the drivers' championship with 156 points. Mexican driver Sergio Pérez struggled in qualifying and started the race without points, while other contenders such as George Russell and Charles Leclerc faced setbacks during the weekend.
