Lewis Hamilton's eighth F1 title prospects doubted by Juan Pablo Montoya

Former Formula 1 driver Juan Pablo Montoya has expressed doubt that Lewis Hamilton will secure an eighth World Championship, despite the Briton’s recent resurgence with Ferrari.

Following a difficult first season at Maranello, the 41-year-old Hamilton has adapted to new technical regulations, currently holding second place in the Drivers’ Standings. He trails leader Kimi Antonelli by 50 points, with 316 points still available in the season. Hamilton’s recent form includes a victory at the Barcelona Grand Prix and four podium finishes.

While Montoya acknowledged that Hamilton’s performance indicates Ferrari is “on the right path,” he stated, “I don’t think he is going to be world champion again.” Montoya also suggested that Hamilton’s continued success and potential decision to extend his career could impact the driver market, potentially creating a bottleneck for Ferrari’s junior prospects.
