Lewiston sets unofficial record for longest cheesesteak line

Local businesses and a nonprofit in Lewiston set an unofficial world record for the longest line of cheesesteak sandwiches during the annual Hot August Nights event. Organized by Happy Day Restaurants, Main Street Grill, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley, the assembly stretched 1,487 feet.

This achievement surpassed the previous unofficial record set in Lewiston in 2023, which measured 722.8 feet. The event utilized approximately 700 pounds of locally sourced beef and regional grains. All proceeds from ticket sales, totaling $13,502, were donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis Clark Valley to support community members.
