Lewiston zebra mural symbolizes city diversity

A zebra mural located on a downtown parking garage in Lewiston serves as a symbol of the city's diversity and community connection. Painted in 2018 by Brazilian muralist Arlin Graff, the artwork was intended to create a welcoming environment for the local immigrant community.

Mayor Carl Sheline and L/A Arts have recognized the mural's impact on the city. The zebra motif was chosen to represent how individuals thrive together as a community, reflecting Lewiston's ongoing evolution and resilience.
