Álex Márquez discusses helmet safety and recent racing incidents

MotoGP rider Álex Márquez has highlighted the critical role of helmet safety following a severe crash at the Catalan Grand Prix. The Gresini Racing rider shared a video featuring the Shoei helmet that protected him during the incident, noting that while he lost consciousness temporarily, the equipment performed its essential function. Márquez emphasized that for a professional racer, a manufacturer must guarantee reliability, safety, comfort, and design.

Separately, during practice sessions for the Austrian Grand Prix, Márquez experienced an unusual crash caused by a brake lock-up after his motorcycle wheel lifted while exiting the first corner. Despite this incident and difficulties finding grip, he successfully secured a position in Q2. He also noted technical issues with his fairing during earlier sessions, which hindered his ability to test different setups.
