Álex Pitaluga runs for PSOE primaries to lead Consell de Ibiza

Álex Pitaluga Ivorra, a deputy in the Balearic Parliament, has announced his candidacy in the PSOE primaries to become the socialist candidate for the presidency of the Consell de Ibiza for the 2027 elections.

Pitaluga’s platform focuses on addressing the island’s housing crisis, particularly for young people, and managing tourism saturation. He advocates for a revision of Ibiza’s growth model, arguing that tourism should benefit local residents by funding improved public services, healthcare, and education, rather than compromising the island’s territory, landscape, or cultural heritage.

A former educator and director of secondary schools, Pitaluga currently serves as a deputy for the PSIB-PSOE in Ibiza and holds the position of Secretary of Education for the Ibiza Socialist Federation.
