Álex Woiski criticizes separation from River Plate squad

Former River Plate forward Álex Woiski has spoken out regarding his abrupt separation from the club's first-team squad. Woiski, who currently plays for Deportivo Táchira in Venezuela, described the decision to isolate a group of players at the Cantilo training facility as “striking and incorrect.”

He detailed a difficult period where the marginalized players had to train in isolation, noting that the club initially provided little support. Woiski mentioned that the group was forced to use containers as changing rooms and relied on mutual mental support to cope with the situation. He expressed surprise at being notified of the decision via a letter.

Woiski, who joined River Plate as a prospect under Marcelo Gallardo following time at Mallorca, attributed his lack of first-team opportunities to persistent ankle and hamstring injuries. While he criticized the club's handling of the separation, he acknowledged that River Plate eventually assisted in facilitating the players' departures.
