Lexbase removes teacher accused of pedophilia following lawsuit

An investigation by SVT has revealed that a teacher accused of pedophilia has been removed from the legal database Lexbase following a lawsuit.

The case involves a teacher, referred to as John, who was accused of secretly filming 21 children in a sauna during a summer camp. While the prosecution was eventually dropped because the teacher fled the country to avoid service, he successfully sued the state for compensation regarding his time in custody.

As part of a settlement with a municipality in central Sweden, the teacher received ten months' salary, totaling nearly 400,000 SEK, in exchange for immediately leaving his position. The investigation highlights how information regarding such cases appears in paid legal databases like Lexbase.
