Lexus launches MellowGlow illumination upgrade for RX

Lexus has introduced the “MellowGlow” illumination upgrade for the RX model through its Lexus Upgrade Factory service. Available for RX models produced from March 2025 onwards, the upgrade costs 88,000 yen including labor.

The system enhances the standard interior illumination package by adding a “light fluctuation” effect that changes over time, mimicking natural light patterns. The illumination is synchronized across several areas, including the instrument panel, front and rear door trims, door handles, front trays, and door pockets.

Drivers can choose from 14 different theme colors categorized into five moods: healing (Rain forest, Bamboo, Lightning), relaxing (Dawn, Sunset, Afterglow), awakening (Warm white, Silky white, Daylight white), concentration (Iceberg, Waterfall, Meteor), and exhilaration (Flare red, Heat blue). A custom color option is also available, allowing for a static selection from 50 colors.
