Lexus LBX price cut narrows gap with Toyota Yaris Cross in Netherlands
Lexus has reduced the list price of its LBX compact SUV in the Dutch market from €37,995 to €35,995 for the Preference Edition. The €2,000 discount brings the LBX’s price within about €1,000 of the competing Toyota Yaris Cross, which starts at €31,895 for the base model and €34,995 for the Hybrid 130 trim.
Both models share a similar power output – the LBX offers 136 hp while the Yaris Cross Hybrid 130 delivers 130 hp – and they are built on the same Toyota platform. The Yaris Cross provides a larger infotainment screen, a wireless phone charger and LED projector headlights, whereas the LBX features a 9.8‑inch screen, automatic dual‑zone climate control and a more upscale interior with softer materials.
The price reduction aims to revive sales of the LBX, which has struggled to gain traction in the highly competitive B‑segment despite being positioned as Lexus’s entry‑level model in the Netherlands.
