Range Rover Sport Electric unveiled at Goodwood Festival

Jaguar Land Rover presented the prototype of the Range Rover Sport Electric at a private preview during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July 2026. The model is the brand’s second fully electric SUV after the larger Range Rover Electric and retains the familiar muscular silhouette of its combustion‑engine sibling, with a closed grille and no exhaust outlets. It is built on the modular longitudinal architecture (MLA) that underpins the conventional range, uses a 118.5 kWh battery pack and an 800‑volt dual‑motor system delivering roughly 400‑550 kW (about 540‑550 hp) and 850 Nm of torque. Land Rover estimates an EPA‑type range of around 530 km, with WLTP figures expected to exceed 600 km. Fast‑charging capability of up to 350 kW can replenish 80 % of the battery in roughly 20‑30 minutes. Off‑road capability is preserved through air suspension, rear‑wheel steering and a one‑pedal driving mode. Full technical specifications, pricing and market timing will be disclosed later in 2026, with customer deliveries projected for 2027. Managing Director Martin Limpert highlighted the model’s dynamic performance and its role in expanding the brand’s electrified lineup alongside existing plug‑in hybrid, mild‑hybrid V8 and conventional powertrains.
