Lexus luxury car owned by Truong My Lan sold at auction

Ho Chi Minh City civil judgment enforcement authorities have announced the successful auction of a black Lexus luxury vehicle previously owned by Truong My Lan, the Chairwoman of Van Thinh Phat Group.

The vehicle, which has the license plate 51A-942.85, was sold in September for 600 million VND to a resident of Ho Chi Minh City. This final sale price represents a reduction of more than 167 million VND from its initial May starting price of over 767 million VND. The car's difficulty in finding a buyer was reportedly due to its used condition and a faulty battery that prevented it from being driven.

The auction is part of an ongoing effort by authorities to liquidate assets linked to Truong My Lan to fulfill obligations to repay over 30,081 billion VND to more than 43,100 bondholders.
