Lexus unveils new ES sedan in Indonesia, targeting Southeast Asia

Lexus introduced the eighth‑generation ES at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. Two power‑train versions are offered: the ES350h Luxury hybrid, priced at 1.299 billion rupiah, and the ES350e Luxury fully electric, priced at 1.480 billion rupiah. The hybrid pairs a 2.5‑litre engine with an electric motor for a combined 247 PS, while the EV uses a single front‑wheel‑drive motor delivering 224 PS and a 74.7 kWh battery that provides a CLTC‑rated range of about 685 km.

Built on an enlarged TNGA‑K platform, the new ES measures 5,140 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width and has a 2,950 mm wheelbase, bringing it close to the size of the LS flagship. A dual‑motor AWD ES500e variant with 343 PS is also available in select markets. After the Indonesian debut, Lexus plans to roll the model out to other Southeast Asian markets, including Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam, where the previous ES generation was imported at prices of 2.36‑3.14 billion VND.
