LFA launches women's self‑defence seminar and youth MMA program in Brasília

The Latin Fighting Alliance (LFA) held a week of community events in Brasília's Arena Nilson Nelson, branded District 1. On Monday, 27 May, jiu‑jitsu black belt Márcio Catenacci led the second LFA Self‑Defense seminar for women, teaching 30 participants practical protection techniques and confidence‑building drills. Fighter Pietra Sena highlighted the value of bringing martial‑arts knowledge to the broader public.

The following day, UFC middleweight Caio Borralho visited the arena to give a motivational talk and a hands‑on training session for local children and youth. Alongside LFA South‑America vice‑president Rafael Feijão, Borralho shared stories from his UFC career and demonstrated basic MMA moves. On Wednesday, the R1 Fighting Series VII took place, offering a platform for emerging Brazilian MMA athletes to compete in the same cage used for the LFA events.

These activities, supported by the Distrito Federal’s Secretaria de Esporte e Lazer, aim to promote sport, safety and talent development within the community.
