LG Electronics and Nvidia accelerate robotics and physical AI collaboration
LG Electronics is accelerating its robotics partnership with Nvidia to advance physical AI and humanoid robot development. Following a memorandum of understanding signed in California, Nvidia senior director Madison Huang visited LG’s Yangjae Data Factory in Seoul to inspect the facility and discuss collaboration strategies.
The Yangjae Data Factory, which is expected to be fully operational by the end of this year, serves as a hub for generating, collecting, and refining robot training data. LG is deploying hundreds of its CLOiD robots within the facility to perform tasks in simulated environments, including household settings and manufacturing spaces modeled after LG’s Tennessee plant.
By integrating LG’s collected data with Nvidia’s robotics stack—including Omniverse, Cosmos, and Isaac platforms—the companies aim to build a robust data flywheel. LG targets the acquisition of 100,000 hours of training data by the end of 2026, which will be used to enhance its robot foundation models. LG also plans to showcase a two-legged humanoid robot in the first quarter of 2027.
