LG Display launches 720Hz OLED panel for esports

LG Display has announced the mass production of a new 24.5-inch OLED panel specifically engineered for the esports market. The panel features a 720Hz refresh rate at Full HD resolution and a response time of 0.02ms, aiming to minimize motion blur and ghosting in competitive gaming.

To maintain high refresh rates without sacrificing resolution, LG Display utilizes a proprietary algorithm integrated from the panel design to the driving system. This technology is designed to cater to fast-paced genres such as first-person shooters and racing games.

ASUS is the first manufacturer to implement this technology in its ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace monitor. This device has been selected as the official monitor for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026, marking the first Counter-Strike 2 tournament to be played entirely on OLED panels.
