LG Display reports 480 Hz OLED monitor cuts input lag and boosts FPS hit scores by up to 38%

LG Display released experimental results showing that a 480 Hz OLED gaming monitor reduces input lag by more than 10 milliseconds compared with a 60 Hz panel and improves first‑person‑shooter hit scores by 38 %. In a blind test involving 31 adult gamers, performance continued to rise, with an additional 10 % gain when moving from 240 Hz to 480 Hz.

The company attributes the gains to the higher refresh rate and lower motion blur of its OLED technology. LG Display said the findings support its plan to expand a high‑refresh‑rate OLED lineup, including a 27‑inch panel capable of 540‑720 Hz, and to increase its share of the gaming monitor market.
