LG Electronics expands NVIDIA partnership for robotics and AI vehicles

LG Electronics is deepening its strategic partnership with NVIDIA to accelerate advancements in robotics and automotive technology. Following a memorandum of understanding signed in Santa Clara, California, executives from both companies met at LG’s new Data Factory in Seoul to discuss the commercialization of robotics solutions.

The 10,000-square-meter Data Factory, located at the Yangjae R&D Campus, is designed to generate massive amounts of training data. By the end of the year, the facility is expected to house several hundred robots, aiming to produce approximately 100,000 hours of training data through physical and simulated environments. This data will be integrated with NVIDIA’s robotics stack to enhance robot learning for tasks such as cleaning, stacking, and assembly.

Beyond robotics, LG is expanding its collaboration with NVIDIA into the automotive sector. The companies are working to develop next-generation AI-driven vehicle (AIDV) platforms. By combining LG’s infotainment and software capabilities with NVIDIA’s Drive Hyperion computing platform, LG aims to transition from traditional infotainment services toward advanced autonomous driving solutions.
