LG Electronics celebrates 10 years of vocational training in Ethiopia
LG Electronics held the 10th graduation ceremony for the LG-KOICA Hope Vocational Training School in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on May 22. Established in 2014 in collaboration with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Ethiopian government, and the NGO World Together, the institution provides free professional education in electrical, electronic, and IT fields.
To date, the school has produced 679 graduates, maintaining a 100% employment and entrepreneurship rate. LG Electronics supports students through internship opportunities at its local subsidiary and provides practical mentoring via an on-campus entrepreneurship support center.
The program, which honors Ethiopia's historical contribution as a participant in the Korean War, was recognized as an exemplary Official Development Assistance (ODA) case at the G7 Summit in France earlier this year.
