LG Electronics establishes Robotics Business Center to boost future development
LG Electronics announced the creation of a Robotics Business Center that will report directly to CEO Liu Je‑chul. The unit will integrate business development, sales and manufacturing operations to accelerate the commercialization of robotics across residential, commercial and industrial applications. As part of the "One LG Solution" strategy, the centre will strengthen robotics governance, pool capabilities of LG affiliates and expand partnerships with global technology firms. It will also launch a dedicated data‑factory to collect high‑quality operational data for advancing LG's Robot Foundation Model (RFM) and support robot training. The centre, led by Song Si‑yong, becomes effective on 1 July 2026 as part of an off‑cycle organisational restructuring.
The data‑factory will be built at LG's Yangje R&D campus in Seoul and is slated to start operations later this year, providing a platform for next‑generation robotics development.
