LG Electronics launches AI-powered STEM ice water purifier refrigerator

LG Electronics has officially released the LG Dios AI Objet Collection STEM ice water purifier refrigerator, featuring an ergonomic drawer-style freezer design. Moving away from traditional side-opening bottom freezers, the new model utilizes a two-tier drawer system consisting of a middle convertible drawer and a bottom drawer.

The middle convertible drawer allows users to select from 14 different storage modes via the LG ThinQ app, including settings for baby food, meal kits, wine, meat, and fish. The unit also incorporates advanced AI technologies, such as ‘AI Fresh Care,’ which learns usage patterns to pre-cool the unit before meal preparation, and ‘AI Saving Mode,’ which optimizes compressor operation during low-usage periods to improve energy efficiency.

Additional features include AI voice recognition for food storage recommendations, an auto-closing door, and a 6.8-inch display. The design utilizes ‘Fit & Max’ and zero-clearance hinge technology to allow for a built-in look with minimal spacing from walls. The company also offers a subscription service for regular maintenance, including filter replacements and component cleaning.
