LG Electronics has inaugurated a new R$ 1.5 billion manufacturing plant in Fazenda Rio Grande, located in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, Paraná. This facility marks the company's second industrial operation in Brazil, joining its existing unit in Manaus.
The factory is specialized in the production of refrigerators for the Brazilian market, aiming to reduce reliance on imports and decrease logistical delivery times by 80%. The plant features a total area of 770,000 square meters, with 70,000 square meters of built space. It is designed with high levels of automation and has a production capacity exceeding 230 refrigerators per hour, with a potential annual output of 600,000 units.
The project includes a dedicated Research and Development (R&D) center with approximately 40 professionals focused on adapting global innovations to local consumer habits. The inauguration is expected to generate 500 direct and indirect jobs initially. In the future, the facility is also intended to support exports to other South American markets.
