LG Electronics partners with Miniclip to launch 8 Ball Pool on smart TVs
LG Electronics has announced a partnership with Miniclip to bring the mobile game 8 Ball Pool to LG smart TVs. This marks the first time the title, which has over one billion downloads and holds a Guinness World Record, will be available on a large screen.
The game is optimized for the webOS platform, specifically for models from 2021 (webOS 6.0) and newer. Players can use the LG Magic Remote to aim, adjust shot power, and execute strokes. A new feature called ‘Couch Play Mode’ has been introduced for this launch, allowing two players to compete against each other on a single screen.
Users can access the game via LG Apps or the LG Gaming Portal. Through the portal, players can complete missions to earn rewards such as badges in their ‘My Page’ section. The launch is part of LG’s broader strategy to expand its web-based gaming catalog, which has seen significant growth in user engagement and title availability.
