LG Electronics supplies integrated cockpit for Renault Group SDV
LG Electronics is supplying an integrated cockpit solution for the Renault Group’s new Trafic E-Tech Electric. This model represents the manufacturer’s first mass-produced commercial vehicle built on a software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture. The vehicle has previously been recognized as the ‘International Van of the Year’.
LG’s solution integrates the instrument cluster and the infotainment system into a single, unified architecture. This approach is designed to provide a more intuitive user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) by centralizing controls that are traditionally distributed across dozens of separate electronic control units.
By utilizing high-performance computing and a centralized software architecture, the system supports the continuous addition of new features and upgrades via wireless software updates. Additionally, the integration aims to help manufacturers reduce production costs through component simplification and optimized system design.
