Display manufacturers launch high-performance 5K and ultra-high refresh rate monitors

Major display manufacturers are introducing high-performance monitor technologies focused on extreme refresh rates and high resolutions. AOC has announced the AGON AGP327KG, the world’s first 5K gaming monitor featuring NVIDIA G-SYNC Pulsar technology, which aims to enhance motion clarity. Another AOC model, the Agon Pro AGP277KXM Ultra, features a 27-inch 5K Fast IPS panel with a dual-mode capability, allowing users to switch between 5K at 180Hz and QHD at 360Hz, supported by Mini LED backlighting.

Samsung is also expanding its Odyssey lineup with several new models showcased at Gamescom. These include the ultra-wide Odyssey OLED G9, the 42-inch OLED G7, and the Odyssey G6, which can reach refresh rates of up to 1,100Hz in a specialized dual-mode configuration (720p). Samsung’s new OLED panels utilize Penta Tandem technology to improve efficiency and lifespan.

In the competitive esports sector, ASUS is transitioning from TN panels to OLED technology, introducing four new 24.5-inch OLED models. These displays utilize either LG Display’s Tandem-WOLED or Samsung Display’s QD-OLED panels to achieve extremely low response times of 0.02 to 0.03 milliseconds. Additionally, LG has demonstrated a 24.5-inch monitor capable of reaching 1,000Hz, pushing the boundaries of fluid motion for professional gaming.
