LG expands Sound Suite with DTS:X and dual subwoofer support
LG Electronics has announced a significant software update for its LG Sound Suite, a modular wireless home audio system based on Dolby Atmos FlexConnect. The update introduces several key enhancements to improve content compatibility and hardware flexibility.
The H7 soundbar will now support the DTS:X immersive audio format, providing an alternative to Dolby Atmos for users with compatible media. Additionally, the H7 soundbar gains Google Cast support, allowing for direct streaming of music and podcasts. To further expand the ecosystem, LG is developing the Media Connect Hub to facilitate DTS:X playback from external sources.
Hardware configuration options are also expanding. Compatible setups can now utilize two W7 subwoofers simultaneously, a feature designed to provide more even bass distribution across larger rooms or multiple seating positions. To improve wireless stability in crowded home networks, the system now supports the 6 GHz Wi-Fi band and 5 GHz Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channels.
