LG Uplus concludes AI shorts festival with 5,009 entries

LG Uplus and YouTube have concluded the ‘Uth AI Shorts Festival,’ a content creation contest aimed at discovering creative talent in the AI era. The competition received a total of 5,009 entries. Held as part of the ‘National AI Competition’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, the festival utilized Google’s generative AI model, Gemini, to allow participants to express their identities through two categories: ‘Simply’ and ‘Arts.’

To lower the barrier to entry for AI content creation, LG Uplus operated AI educator classes and offline pop-up exhibitions at its ‘U+ Daily/Non-daily Gap’ art platform. The educator programs provided practical training ranging from prompt engineering to video production, with 331 aspiring creators participating across 15 sessions.

Eleven winners, including recipients of the Minister of Science and ICT Award, will participate in an eight-day AI training program in the United States this September. The trip includes visits to the Google office in San Francisco and the Data Land AI museum in Los Angeles. The winning works are scheduled to be exhibited at the renovated ‘U+ Daily/Non-daily Gap’ platform starting September 16.
