LG Uplus expert to coach South Korea in cloud computing at WorldSkills
Bae Ju-hyeok, a technical lead at LG Uplus, will serve as the coach and international instructor for the South Korean national team in the cloud computing category at the 48th WorldSkills Competition. The event is scheduled to take place from September 22 to 27 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China.
The WorldSkills Competition is a major biennial global event for technical skills, featuring approximately 1,400 participants from 70 countries and regions competing across 64 disciplines, including ICT, mechanics, and construction. Cloud computing, which tests the ability to design, build, and operate IT infrastructure within a cloud environment, has been an official competition category since 2019.
Bae is participating in his third WorldSkills competition as a coach. He previously contributed to South Korea winning its first silver medal in the cloud computing category at the 2024 competition in Lyon, France. South Korea, which has won the overall championship 19 times since its first participation in 1967, is aiming for its 20th overall victory at this year's Shanghai event.
