LG Uplus launches affordable Homecam Lite smart home service

LG Uplus has launched ‘Homecam Lite’, an entry-level smart home service priced at 5,500 KRW per month based on a three-year contract. The package includes a home camera, 20GB of cloud storage, and insurance coverage for fire and video hacking incidents.

Designed for first-time users such as new parents and pet owners, the service provides insurance compensation of up to 50 million KRW for fire damage and up to 2 million KRW for video hacking. The included ‘Momca Lite’ camera features QHD resolution for clear day and night viewing, with AI capabilities to detect and track people, pets, movement, and sound.

To enhance security, the devices utilize Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) technology to create unique hardware-based encryption keys. Additional security measures include two-step login authentication and video data encryption. The service is available to customers regardless of their internet service provider, with options for professional installation or self-installation via delivery.
