LG Uplus launches global bug bounty program with HackerOne

LG Uplus has launched a global bug bounty program in collaboration with HackerOne, the world’s largest bug bounty platform. The initiative aims to proactively identify and verify potential security vulnerabilities across all of the company’s service areas, including mobile, internet, and enterprise services.

By leveraging a community of approximately 2.4 million white-hat hackers, the program seeks to uncover latent security threats that may be difficult to detect through domestic verification systems alone. This move comes as telecommunications services increasingly interface with international infrastructure, such as roaming, cloud, and AI services, raising the complexity of security risks.

The program will operate privately, involving only skilled global white-hat hackers who have undergone identity and capability verification. LG Uplus plans to use continuous reports from these experts to rapidly analyze and remediate vulnerabilities, establishing a security management system that meets global standards.
