LGBTQ+ intersectionality conferences scheduled for 2026 in Vienna and Berlin

Two upcoming professional conferences in 2026 will focus on intersectionality and solidarity within the LGBTQ+ community.

On November 20, 2026, the WASt conference, titled ‘Queerintersektional gelesen’, will take place at the Vienna City Hall. The event features lectures and workshops addressing the intersections of queer identity with religion, disability, and age. Participants include experts such as Prof. Zülfukar Çetin and representatives from the Muntu Foundation Uganda.

In Berlin, the Dachverband Lesben & Alter e. V. will host a conference on October 23 and 24, 2026, titled ‘Intersektionale Solidarität stärken – Konflikte verstehen, Demokratie gestalten’. The event aims to address internal community conflicts arising from differences in generation, origin, and political or religious views. It seeks to develop strategies for building solidarity and countering rising violence and hostility against queer individuals through dialogue between community members, scientists, and politicians.
