LGBTQIAPN+ events and milestones organized in Brazil
Various LGBTQIAPN+ events and milestones are being highlighted in Brazil. In Santaluz, Bahia, the first LGBTQIAPN+ Meeting is scheduled for September 19. Organized by Nega Lu, Bilu Enfermeiro, and Josué Santos, the event aims to focus on family acceptance, respect, and promoting dialogue to build inclusive family environments.
In Sergipe, the ASTRA organization and its partners are organizing the 25th Sergipe LGBT Parade on August 30 at the Orla de Atalaia. The theme for this year is “The History Continues, the Struggle Does Not Stop,” marking 25 years of mobilization for human rights and citizenship. The celebration includes various preparatory activities such as seminars, workshops, and symposiums across several municipalities. Maria Eduarda Marques, vice-president of ASTRA, noted that while significant legal milestones like marriage equality and name rectification have been achieved, challenges regarding public policy effectiveness, healthcare access, and violence persist.
