CONMEBOL Sub-20 Beach Soccer tournament begins in Lima

The CONMEBOL Sub-20 Beach Soccer tournament is set to take place in Lima, Peru, from August 22 to August 30 at the Estadio Playa Agua Dulce. The competition features ten South American national teams divided into two groups of five. Previous champions include Brazil (2017), Argentina (2019), and Paraguay (2023).

In preparation for the tournament, the Argentine national team completed its final training session in Ezeiza before traveling to Lima. The Venezuelan squad, including player Lewison Pacheco, is also set to compete in Group A alongside Peru, Chile, Colombia, and Argentina.

In Peruvian football, the Liga 1 Clausura enters its sixth matchday, highlighted by a top-of-the-table clash between leader Alianza Lima and third-place Melgar. Melgar manager Miguel Rondelli noted that while the match is significant, it does not decide the championship. Alianza Lima currently leads both the Clausura and the accumulated standings.
