L’Hospitalet political groups prepare for municipal elections

The new political term in L’Hospitalet has commenced, heavily influenced by the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for May. Local political groups have expressed varying outlooks on the final months of the current mandate.

Jesús Husillos, spokesperson for the PSC, stated that the group intends to fulfill its electoral program, focusing on city maintenance and the continued reduction of crime rates. In contrast, Jaume Graells of ERC+EUiA criticized the municipal government, characterizing its term as a “mandat en blanc” (blank mandate) and accusing officials of making unfulfilled promises regarding projects like the Santa Eulàlia sports center and the Clínic PDU.

Representing the Partit Popular, Sonia Esplugas noted that the city faces chronic issues including lack of security, cleanliness, and the collapse of social services. Additionally, VOX spokesperson Francisco González criticized Mayor David Quirós, claiming he lacks a city project and a supporting team.
