Li An Lin builds timber empire in Russia after overcoming family debt

Li An Lin, a businessman from Shandong, China, rose from financial hardship to establish a successful timber and pharmaceutical business in Russia. After his family business collapsed due to significant debt, Li moved to Saint Petersburg in 2008 to study economics.

While studying, he earned his initial startup capital by selling membership cards for Chinese restaurants in Saint Petersburg. In 2010, he transitioned into the timber trade between Russia and China, eventually expanding his business interests into pharmaceutical and soy food production. At his peak, his annual income reportedly reached 15 million yuan.

His personal life has also drawn public attention, specifically his journey through three marriages with Russian women before marrying his fourth wife, a fellow Chinese national.
