Li Auto announces European expansion and debut of Li 6 SUV

Chinese automaker Li Auto has announced its expansion into the European market. The company plans to unveil its first European model, the Li 6 (the European branding for the i6 electric SUV), at the Paris Motor Show in October.

Sales for the Li 6 are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026. While specific launch countries and pricing have not been finalized, the company is reportedly seeking dealership partners in Germany and the Netherlands. The United Kingdom is considered a potential primary market for the launch due to the absence of certain compensatory duties found in the EU.

Li Auto’s European strategy focuses on battery electric vehicles (BEVs), such as the i6, i8, and the Mega MPV. In contrast, the company intends to market its extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) L-series SUVs in the Middle East and Central Asia. The expansion follows a recent partnership with the 2026 Solheim Cup in the Netherlands, which the company identified as the official start of its European push.
