XPeng diversifies revenue via tech licensing and flying car operations
XPeng is diversifying its revenue streams beyond vehicle sales, leveraging technology licensing and carbon credits. According to its second-quarter financial report, service and other income reached 2.7 billion yuan, a 93.9% year-on-year increase. This segment contributed nearly half of the company's gross profit.
Key growth drivers include technical collaborations with Volkswagen, which are expected to contribute between 500 million and 1 billion yuan per quarter in the second half of the year. Additionally, a carbon credit partnership with Porsche is slated to begin generating hundreds of millions of yuan in revenue starting in the third quarter.
In the realm of advanced mobility, XPeng Aeroht has established its first flying car '6S' comprehensive operation center in Chengdu Dong'an Lake. This center supports the commercialization of its 'Land Aircraft Carrier' flying vehicle, which features an 800V high-voltage platform and a range exceeding 1,000 kilometers.
