Hao-Yu Lee sets Taiwanese MLB records during Tigers series

Detroit Tigers player Hao-Yu Lee set new records for Taiwanese players in Major League Baseball during a recent series against the Chicago White Sox. Lee recorded four hits in a single game and hit his tenth home run of the season, becoming the first Taiwanese player to reach double-digit home runs in a single MLB season.

In a notable comeback, the Tigers overcame an early deficit to defeat the White Sox 11-8, fueled by Lee’s two-run home run in the eighth inning. Despite the offensive success, the Tigers' pitching staff faced challenges, including a potential injury to starter Troy Melton, who exited the game during a series finale.

In a separate matchup, the Chicago White Sox secured an 8-1 victory over the Tigers in a rain-soaked game, effectively eliminating Detroit from playoff contention. The White Sox remain in contention for the AL Central division and a wild card spot.
