Lee Chang-yu sets new MLB record for most hits by a Taiwanese player

Taiwanese MLB player Lee Chang-yu has set a new record for the most single-season hits by a Taiwanese player in Major League Baseball history. During a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, Lee surpassed the previous record held by Chang Yuan.

Playing for the Detroit Tigers, Lee achieved a perfect on-base percentage in a game where he recorded three hits, two RBIs, and two walks. His performance included a hit against last year’s NL Cy Young winner Paul Skenes. While the Tigers ultimately lost to the Pirates 4-3, Lee’s offensive contributions were central to the game, as he continues to approach several other seasonal milestones held by Chang Yuan.
