Li Hao-yu's 17-game starting streak ends with Detroit Tigers

Detroit Tigers player Li Hao-yu saw his streak of 17 consecutive starts come to an end when he was not included in the starting lineup during a home game against the Minnesota Twins. Despite the benching, Li remains close to several single-season records held by fellow Taiwanese player Chang Yu-chien.

Li currently has 31 runs scored, just one shy of Chang’s 2021 record of 32. He also holds 8 home runs and 37 RBIs, approaching Chang’s marks of 9 home runs and 39 RBIs. The Tigers secured a 5-4 victory over the Twins behind home runs from Kevin McGonigle and Riley Greene.
